Sundown Sa 15 on ~1300 rms

You think so? I was just going off the SunDown suggestions or whatever.
yeah dumdum.. that's for the 600rms rating.. not double.

The box size they suggest is assuming you are giving that sub 600-800w. If you want to run a high power setup you need to make the box smaller to make it less efficient.
beat me to it.

haha right on, that makes a world of sense. I wasn't planning on running double power but I just ended up goin with that zx2500. prob switch up subs in the next year or so to something that can easily handle the powa.

So somewhere around 3cubes would be safer for the subs? I'm def cool with shrinking the box down a bit anyway.

What aren't you understanding? These WILL easily handle the power. Just build the box properly & don't clip them to death. I have a feeling that's going to be hard for you considering you can't grasp the concept.. but I'm willing to go out on a limb here & say you'll be fine.

naw man I follow it just fine, I just like hearing opinions and what everyone has to say.

If you want to do 1300w I would do something a little under 3 cubes

Making it less effecient even if your going to use more power than needed isn't necessary or ideal, IMO.. A smaller box needs more power yes, but a smaller box wont give you more overall output.. Build the box based on the frequency response you want, power is just power.. Making a smaller box and using it because it's less effecient is literally saying ok, I want the sub to be as quiet as possible any given amount of power, that way I have to use every watt at my disposal even to the point of overheating the coil just to get it loud... That way I can say I put 1300 watts on it! 3.5 is likely to have a bettter response than 2.75, which no matter how much power you put on it is probably gonna be lacking on low end.. I'd do 3.5, keep a subsonic filter just below tuning and if you hear it having mechanical issues, back off. Putting it in a smaller box will stop the mechanical noise sure, but only because the sub is quieter since it's now less effecient. Having too much power is a good thing, it's better to run into mechanical limits than thermal, especially when it comes to a daily driver where you want longterm high SPL.
