Anyways got everything hooked up in the car, and turned ipod on, and i feel like these things are no louder than my alpine type rs even at 200w more put on them a peice. The gain on my amp is at the same place as when i had my alpines, but the sundowns are making a weird baffling noise, i dont think its clipping, but im not sure, im afraid to turn the gain up anymore cause i dont want to blow them up, im just wondering if the noise is from lose wiring in the box...but you tell me.

Well when i was screwing them in, i did the one, and i put my head through the other subwoofer hole to look inside to see if there was any light showing through, and there was a some light showing through the bottom, i didnt think it would make that much of a difference.

ANY kind of air leak greatly hampers output, seal them up ASAP

when i first got my 18" it didn't seat properly and there was an ever so tiny crack, there was so much air comming out of there, and routed the outer edge of the hole and screwed the sub dowm, it was a world of difference

Its a M-1000 amp. 1000w x 2ohms. So theyre getting 500w a peice, compare to my two alpines which where wired at 4 ohms and only getting 300w a piece. So i woulda thought that these would be louder

and the box is ported

Ok, so that is the problem, is sounds so much better, but my screw dont want to stay in. So im having trouble keeping the sub flushed
