sundown sa-12 d2 power and box?

well i posted here a day or so ago asking about a couple of sub options and someone told me about sundowns, so i looked them and i want to try them. im looking at the sa-12 d2 i have a 1500rms @1 ohm or 1000rms at 2 ohm amp and a 1.85 ported box tuned 35hz would they sound alright until i built a new box a few months down the line when the weather gets better. i plan on running a single one on about 1000-1200rms at 1 ohm if you guys think it'll handle it in my current box.

i seen someone put 3k to 2 sundowns on youtube. hit a 149 at 32 hz. was tuned to 29.. but i guess its possible if you know what your doing

What kind of amp? As long as it is clean you can give them 1000+. If you are clipping it, 1000+ will not take long to kill it.

Why just 1 sub? The higher the impedance the easier on your equipment. Assuming your hu is not clipping you could give it 1000 easy with no problem.

Should be fine the sundowns look built to take 1000 watts fairly easily SPL coil that would be a for sure lol

plus im not looking for a pure spl build, i'd like to have some trunk space left in my car lol, and my amp probably doesn't give a true 1000rms at 2ohm but i know it will at 1 ohm. but does 1.8 cubes ar 35 hz seem in the ball park for a sa-12? i know the box shape can make a huge difference but just in general good size and port tune?

You shouldnt have any issues as long as you set the gains correctly,and no clipping issues.There should be a sticky/info on how to set gains properly.I think you will be just fine,@1ohm load on the single dvc2ohm sub

what amp are you using i gave my sa 10 and 12 1k and they took it great 12 was in 1.75 at 32

amp is a hifonics hfi1500D so it'll only c maybe 1200rms at 1 ohm
