Sundown SA-10 D2 Problems

Hi everyone im new to the forums I hope I am posting in the right area if not the I apologize ahead of time my name is jesse im from indiana I have a 2006 Monte Carlo LTZ with 75000 miles ive only had it for about 4 months and i love it so far but here's my problem I recently purchased a sundown sa-10 d2, a audiopipe apsm 1300 im running 21' of 4ga power wire 3' of 4ga ground wire I am using a scosche loc2sl lineout converter hooked up to my rear speakers I have a 80amp fuse within a foot of the main fuse block under the hood I am getting 14.5 volts to the amp I have a clean ground on the strut tower my sa10 is reading 1.8-2ohms per coil I have it wired parallel so its at 1ohm the apsm is 1ohm stable I built the ported box to sundowns specs and I have a scosche 500k mini cap in line with the amp I know its not really worth using but i got it for free but my problem is the sa10 is 600rms and I have it wired to 1ohm and the apsm is rated at 1000rms @1ohm and from everything i have heard/read it puts out close to actual power but my sub is not putting out any real power I have adjust the gain, bass boost, and lpf on the amp and the subs cone doesn't even barely move just slightly vibrates it doesnt move air out of the port either any help is greatly appreciated you can pm me if you want I will answer any questions as soon as possible

Have u adjusted the loc any? What is ur lpf set at? Subsonic?

Yes I have adjust both channels on the loc all the way up and down I tired both at once and one at a time it gets louder when they are both all the way up and I tried running only one rca to the amp at a time and it doesn't change the output no matter which one i unplug if I remember right lpf is 40-180hz so i probably have it at around 100hz I haven't messed with subsonic filter much though i usually leave it off or barely on

Thats odd i figured the loc level was too low or the lpf was incorrectly set ...have u tried fading from feont to rear on head unit? Does ur monte have bose?

Sorry for double posting but I was going to try an output test on my amp tomorrow because it cant be putting out anything close to 1000w maybe 100-200 tops I resistance tested my grounds they were both .1 ohms after subtracting the .3 from the meter leads any tips for the output test ive never tried one

Yea somethong def quirky is up ..yea that amo is a turd ..but it will put out a clean 900 rms ..plenty for a single sa10....i would leave the loc input levels all the way up and start over

No it doesn't have bose it does have the premium sound system with the stock amplifier i spliced the loc into the input wires for factory amp, I know the factory system is supposed to have bass reduction to keep from blowing the speakers but I really doubt it could make this big of a problem

I ran a loc in my impala with bose wand was so much happier when i got a nice head unit ..ditch that loc and stock speakers asap ..u will be alot happier

I believe u I have thought about doing it I just like the stock head unit but it doesn't really seem to me like a loc could be the problem all it is for is rca's and I have my remote wire ran off it i mean I could be wrong I because it doesn't seem like anything else could be causing the problem

Probably not ..but the overall output and quality of sound when switching from running a loc to a nice hu is night and day....good luck fixing it

Ok so turns out the lineout converter was the problem I installed a new kenwood radio and ****!!!!!! I can c why everyone loves the sa series I have never heard one 10 hit so hard but now that I installed the radio I have no sound coming out of my stock speakers I used the scosche gm3000 interface anyone have any ideas

Put loc on output of factory amp.
This was your problem. A line out converter is meant to run off a speaker level signal not a line level. That line level signal was very small compared a speaker level signal and an LOC will attenuate (reduce) the level further, thus why you had such a small signal into your subwoofer amp.

Yea o well im going to stick with the kenwood it has Bluetooth which is a nice touch but back to my speakers not having any output all the wires going from the interface to the radio were the same colors and according to both manuals I have it wired right but my car is the ltz with the factory amp so I dont know If I should have used a axxess instead of the scosche or what's wrong
