Just some background on my system. For TLDR just look below.
I have all my connections professionally installed. I had a kicker 10 comp hooked to a old Sony amp on pioneer deh150mp. Ended up selling sub and amp to save up for better equipment. I had a old pyramid gold series pb600 lying around so I decided to amp my front speakers and decided to run my rear speakers off headunit for a little fill until I got a new sub. I run the speaker wires, and end up getting a pop noise when my head unit turns off. No big deal for now anyways. THIS ONLY POPPED ON ONE SINGLE SPEAKER - I mess around trying to make sure there's no short or something grounding out.
Things go down hill - real fast.
hooked everything back up after checking connections and then there's no sound from any speaker, and when the vehicle is on, there's a very loud high pitched whine, that was NEVER there before. Power and ground wires stayed the same from the last sub that was hooked up, power 8g fused at 50a and rem fused. RCA's are good. Fronts on amp and rears on head unit.
In the process of rewiring and checking connections I find out the no sound was from a bad harness. I ended up 'frying' the harness that my stock door speaker wiring hooks to (tested all channels and no sound comes from speakers) and then in turn to the head unit. I skip that harness and wire straight from the voice coil to my amp.
Audio had retuned but Now I'm back to first problem, but worse. Speaker pops when changing source now, turn volume to 0 and pops, when turning head unit off speakers pop. And the whining noise is still there. What could I do at this point to troubleshoot my problem?
Maybe hooking the speakers back to the headunit? I wonder if my amp could be causing this.
