Where have you been? They are the new forum boner for any online community.

Its frustrating for us people who have ran nothing but pro audio for years and years, and got so much **** on every forum for doing so. But now Sundown makes pro audio speakers, so the people who were snobs saying that all pro audio just ***** and shouldnt be in a car are the same people raving about how great the Sundowns sound.

Id still like to hear some though. Havent seen any around here yet.

I don't really keep up with Sundown so I don't know their company history or anything, I just know their amps are pretty nice.

I'm not really sure why people think pro audio speakers in a car is a bad idea, as long as the install is correct it should sound better. They do have a few disadvantage though... I know they aren't designed to go much lower than 30Hz(excluding a few that they use in large theaters) and the subs need big ported enclosures and don't have much xmax. Some people don't like the piercing-treble sound from a horn/bullet tweeter, I personally don't like it myself but then again I've been to concerts and the speakers sounds great from a distance. They look really plain and so they're sort of excluded from flashy installs.

My Eminence Delta 10s are hideous looking, but thats what they make grills for. Also, bullet tweeters FTMFW.

Id love to do a test of the Deltas vs the Sundown 10s.

The issue with many PA drivers is they are designed for ported enclosures to achieve output below 100 hz or so; for PA applications you see ported enclosures 99% of the time -- when we made the NeoPro line we adjusted them to actually work well in a car door for mid-bass output so you aren't just putting a driver designed for something else in a car.

Thats weird. You need to get some of the 10s down in my area so I can have a listen.
