Sundown E15 d2 600w-800w daily?

How do they sound on rated power?

I would... Based on the stress tests, and sundowns track record, I dont think you would have an issue. If you smell the coil back off..

i figure this is my first "real build" and if i can get a sub that good for that price its probably a good place to start.

Just like Towncar said - try throwing it at the sub, if you start smelling it, back it off a little bit. If you'd do some searching, you'll find a couple of 'abuse' videos..and these subs are monsters. For a starter, I'd say this is one of the best places you can start at. And if you want to in the future, you can always upgrade to an SA-15 or go even bigger.

I say for the price, the E-15 is a VERY solid sub; and if you keep the signal clean, you should be fine giving it that much power.
