Sundown Amp Not Working

^^ my othe amp is grounded at the same place, it doesnt seem to be an issue with the ground.
But would it make sense for it to be reading fine when I pull out the wire, but as soon as it touches terminal even if i touch the volt meter leads directly to the wire it drops down
I had this exact problem,

I absolutely had no problems with my ground then all of a sudden, bam, nothing works, I tried everything except my ground(i thought since it worked before, why would it just stop?). I finally sanded the paint away from my ground and BAM! BINGO!

I read the wires with a meter and they all ready 12 volts until I tried to turn the amp on....then they dropped straight to 3 volts and wouldn't work.

I know u other amp is working fine, however, don't underestimate those tricky bastards..

SAND THE PAINT AWAY FROM GROUND AND TRY AGAIN.

GL,

Bass

I know this is a real old thread, but heres the update on it

tried what everyone said, and bingo it started working, I think it was the remote wire. But a few minutes later, GONE.

This is whats going on now....

The Power and the remote on my Sundown are reading ~12 when i touch my volt metre either directly to my ground or to the ground terminal on my other amp.

When I touch it to the ground terminal on my Sundown, reading drops to 3-4.

When I pull the ground wire out of my Sundown Terminal and touch it directly to the wire, its shows 12ish again.

.. the amps not in protection, swapped the fuses, opened it up and nothing looks out of the ordinary

Check the resistance of the ground wire going to your Sundown. It's a long shot, but that could've gotten damaged. If so just replace it.

Maybe call up Sundown and see if they have any reports about that.

^^ thanks I'll check that out

Anyone got anyother Ideas?

(completely irrelevant question: Would doing the Big 3 with 4gauge make any difference? is it even worth the trouble?.. I got a bunch of 4 gauge laying around and no money currently to buy 0)

Amps don't just magically make your voltage drop to 3v. It's a wire issue. You need to track it down. What's the voltage elsewhere in your setup while the Sundown is at 3v?

^^ mos def... everywhere else but that terminal is 12ish

It kicked in for a bit when I was coming home today, for like a total of 5 minutes

im going to re-sand my ground tomorrow morning and see what happens for now
