Sundown 3000 with stock alt?

I have an '05 Chevy CC, and I want to put my sundown in it. I was wondering if it would be ok to run it with 2 yellow tops & the stock alt? I have the big 3 done, as well as 0 awg ran through everywhere. Sorry I'm not to sure what the output is on the stock alt. with an amp like that, why half *** your electrical system?

will it work? yeah probably, but you will have horrible voltage drops, risking damaging the amp.

100 idel 125 max on chevy alt at least on my 2500hd I upgraded to 250amp you will need it for sure. I was killing it with a PG ti.1000.1 and PG zx450 lights dimmed out kind of bad, added alt and 3rd batt much better then I upgraded to a xxx-6500d and was still ok on 14.4v never went below 13v. I also have 2 batts under the hood and added another in the rear.

the saz is effecient as hell, but with that much power, i would say 200+ amp alt with 2 batteries are going to be necessary. you dont want to smoke it from low voltage!

I have a 200amp, but the harness from my truck will not plug into the alt. Do the make some kind of an adapter? it was on my 4.3, but the casing is exactly like the stock one. In fact I've already mounted it. I just couldn't leave it cause of the plug.

ive got 3k and these 3 batts in my sig. probly gonna be getting a second d3100. i drop to like 11.8 after a 30sec bass race run. so yeh it will work, but we all know more voltage = more better.

That's why I was wondering, cause this will be in my daily. I doubt I'll be doing many (if any) comps with it.

I have what's in my sig, and as numberous locals will vouch, I run my SAZ-3000D fine with stock 90A alt and the two batts I have. (Powermaster 1200 and 3100).

Ran at both .5 and now back up to 1ohm. .5ohm when I have the Jugg in there, 1ohm when I have the MT in. Voltage drops to 13 or so playing music full tilt for about a minute before it goes below 12.9-13.0. I'm not sure how it's doing it exactly, but I do know my Alternator was changed last year, but this was before I got into car audio and such and I had them just replace the stock alt with anotehr stock alt. Whether they dropped in a bigger one, I don't know. Gonna have to get it tested to truly know, but the 4-banger Mazda6 comes with 90A stock alt.

If I can find a harness adapter thinging I would rather run the 200 amp alt and not take my chances, lol.
