sundown 1500 at .5?

Keeping the voltage up is the key, very reliable if so. I personally am not a fan of super low impedence, remember every halving of the impedence also halfs the damping factor. I personally only run my 1500D at 2 ohms and LOVE the headroom and the control over the woofers. Of course this is for daily driving, for SPL let the beast loose //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

With enough voltage they do fine; keep it above 11-11.5V and you'll be grand. They started giving .5ohms the a-ok on warranty coverage....then they realized how idiots who are trying to run a 1500+ watt amp at .5ohms on their stock electrical, then sending them back like "wtf, I thought it was .5 stable!?!?", so they stopped covering it.

not to thread jack but ryan how do yoy like the elvation audio running the AA's
The DX80.4 has a good amount of power, more like 100 x 4 at 4ohms while the truck's running since it's rated for 80 at 12.6V. I really like the Poly's. They had a little tinsel slapping issue, but it was easy as cake to clear that up.

thanks guys it will only be at .5 for a few spl runs then back to 2 ohm till i get an Alt. I have a 135 factory Alt second batt and big three done. Think it'll stay alive and pushing the he'll out of six cvr 12s? Thanks for the help guys trying to decide on buying one or not. Is 500 an ok price for a new one?

my buddy has his sundown @ .5 all day and its only gone into protect twice(at full blast)

hes got 2 yellowtops and stock alt on a diesel... Im thinking the No big 3 is a source of the problem.

otherwise wang away at .5-1ohm

hmm i wonder how much power they put out strapped at .5 ohms
80
Alot... don't suggest it, though! That is 1/4 ohm per amp. When Loyd (bigbassman) tested them he got 2200 watts each strapped at 1/2 ohm.

And again... I don't suggest it unless you REALLY know what you are doing and ONLY for a short burp if you do try it out. No way that is warranty so I don't endorse it.

* Ref for Loyd's test
