sundown 1500 at .5?

So from the looks of that link, I will only get 1700 watts at .5? I need more than that...

I dont think so, i had a 1500d and I know that amp at 1ohm was pushing more that 1500w, I think the amp puts out that at 1ohm.

I used mine twice, once to push a single RLp 15 and again to push my cousin's CVR 12s both at 2 ohm loads and it was goobs of power. I dont doubt that the Sundown at .5 ohm will push those 12s of yours perfectly.

Yeah. I want to test one out...put something reliable in my car. I blew that dang Visonik trying to get rid of it right now.. so your Sundown put out a lot at 1 ohm?

Yea a 1500d give plenty of power at 1ohm, more that 1500w, and are super reliable. Very good choise in amps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Apparently Ohms Law escapes most caraudio.com members....

ignoring rediculous claims of voltage drop blowing amps... running at half the amps intended nominal load will probably net you less clean power then it would at 1ohm... but it will also give more power then you would get at 2ohm.... if you run at .5 set your gain carfully...

I'd look for a .5 or 2ohm stable amp...

They CAN be used at .5 ohms, but realize that the dampening factor will be halved. Also realize that your box provides virtually no dampening support to the sub below its port tuning.

Below this point, your sub mostly relys on its suspension. So if your sub isn't in the best condition, this wouldn't be advisable, unless you turn your subsonic filter up beyond the point of your tuning.
