I have a sundown 100.4 and i am running the front two channels on my orion c2 6.5 inch components. The impedance on those compenents is 3 ohms, my question is if my amp is stable lower than 4 ohms. I am still fighting some heat issues and i am wondering if the lower impedance is the reason why? i know that these components are junk, and they were clipping, i just am trying to fix one problem at a time. thanks fellas

You say "they were clipping." Speakers don't clip. Amps do. If you are experiencing a lot of harsh distortion, you probably have the amp gain set too high and the amp is clipping (how your ears could handle that amount of high freq noise is beyond me) which would explain your heat issues.

the amp was clipping, i fixed the problem awhile ago, there wasnt any distortion just heat issues, and every now again the tweeter protection would kick in on the crossover, im not happy with these components because they dont nearly take the amount of power they are rated for. Ill be switching out soon to help fix the problems im having. thanks

I don't have a 100.4, but I do have a 100.2 running 2ohm stereo. It does phenominal, and it does get fairly warm ( typical with A/B design ) compounded with desert heat, it does just fine. I'm shure Helotaxi can agree with me on this.
