suggestions on this computer setup

I think it's a pretty good PC, I'd go for 2GB of ram if ur planning on doing alot of gaming tho.

No CD/DVD drives? or case? floppy if needed?

woh rechecked, ur MB wont work, it says it uses 240pin ram slots, so recheck that.

Number of DDR2 Slots 4x 240pin DDR2

DDR2 Standard DDR2 800

ahhh shoot didn't even realize that! anyways (thats why i'm posting, still a computer noobx) i should go with 2gb instead of 1gb? would i notice the difference? i was reading that you might not even notice the difference in most applications.

Like I said, if u were going for a gaming comp than u might as well. U probably wont notice a big difference in most applications, but u never know when later on u will be running some programs in the background whil playing games (media players, firewalls, anti virus, etc...). Plus if ur just building this computer to be set for a while u might as well be prepared for the new games that come out with the high requirements. Also memory will help with photochoping nad sh!tz, video editing. etc...

Or if u play games like an online RPG (WoW, EQ, etc..) and u decide to run multiple copies at once.

If ur already low on money and cant get the 2nd gig than dont, but it's always nice.

**** video card is super cheap, its even cheaper than pricewatch.com

$ 173.98 - radeon x850 xt platinum pci

$ 173.00 - radeon x850 xt 256mb pci

to bad its not the agp version //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

well i might go ahead and get 2gb now, so i wont have to worry about it later. what about the video card, i've been researching all over and still have no real idea of what to get. i've heard good stuff from this x850xt and its 256bit at a good price.

I personaly prefer nvidia, but if ur sticking to ATI than why dont u look at thier

X1xxx series? it'd be better to have more support for newer games. But I do agree that is a nice buy specially for a 256 bit. Go for it if u dont have the budget, but try to find something along the x1900 series.

But as for the build right now I think it would do really good.

yeah i'm having a hard time picking between ati and nvidia. i've heard good stuff about the x1900 series too. if i'm mainly doing gaming i should probably go with nvidia right?

how do you know what type of ram to get when upgrading? can i fit ddr2 ram in a normal ddr slot?
