Yes, I didn't do any finishing while I try to figure out what's going on =]I think a little heatshrink would be nice.
OAN, you will enjoy the JBL 660c McClerico83 recommended.
How did you set the gain?Yes, I didn't do any finishing while I try to figure out what's going on =]
Right now my audio quality is really "meh", one reason why I'm leaning towards amp being bad
Are there any tests I can run on the AMP to see if it's bad?
How much space are you willing to give up? LxWxH, or let me know which area you'd like the sub enclosure to fit.Alright, I've played around for the past couple of days, and I don't think I'll be satisfied sans Sub.
What do you guys recommend for a shallow mount sub? I don't care if it rattles windows, or if you can hear me down the street (I'd prefer NEITHER of those things). I DO care that it is tight and smooth. I prefer a warm sound signature, warm and smooth. Precise is great, don't care for sparkle, it is too fatiguing for me.
I'm already wired for a sub, just need a mono block amp and sub.
My budget is undetermined right now. But I'd obviously not like to give away my right arm.
Thanks again for your help.
Downfiring is very commonly done in the F150 S-crew. I'm working on a sub/box plan for you to consider.It would be going under my passenger-side back seat (it does fold up, but will keep it down).
L = 18.5 in
D = 12 in
H = ~5.5-7 (could do a wedge)
From what I've read, sealed, downfiring sounds like the way I would need to go, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks your help and expertise, I very much appreciate it.
I purchased the Infinity Kappas for the rear (6x8s) and the JBL components for the front.I like to do sub at 80Hz and mids at 125Hz at 12db/octave. You probably don't have a way to change the x-over slope, but 12db/octave is standard. You can use those as starting points and gradually adjust from there. Be mindful not to cross your mids too low. Also, did you end up buying all the speakers you posted initially - the infinity sets?
did you ever figure out the whinning noiseMClerico, I know this topic is muddled with opinion/fact discussion everywhere. Of which I have little of both.
But why would you prefer a vented box in this situation over sealed?
Thanks for your suggestions, loving them.
I've heard great reviews about this sub, but guessing it will be too large for my situation:
