Im fixing up a 74 Firebird..

right now i got a..

Pioneer DEH-P4600MP MP3 Deck

2 6x9 Pioneers.. 240watts max

2 3/4" Keenwood Tweeters.. 60watts

Rockford Folgate Power 500bd Amp

2 10" Rockford Subs.. not sure the details on these..

This is the first system im gonna make myself so i dont know much.. hoping for some good suggestions...

Im planning on keeping the subs, amp, & headunit.. but i havent really had a chance to listen to the 6x9's or the tweeters so im not sure about the quality...

im looking to maybe add 2 more 6x9's or 4 total if those pioneers arent that great... and maybe some new tweeters too...

any feedback is appreciated....

Max/Peak ratings are meaningless.

You need to know the model number of your subs- get that, and then we can tell you if that amp goes well with them.

yea i wish i knew.. i bought the car and the guy built a box but used staples.. so id have too tear apart the box too find out.. but it should be fine since he already had them hooked up to the amp and everything sounded fine...

im mostly concerned about everything besides the subs and amp...

loose all the 6x9's. a set of components and a small amp is all you need.
i was talking too someone else and they mentioned that i should lose the 6x9s i got..

and get a set of 6.5" components and throw em in fiberglass kickpods in the front (but im not sure since ive never done anything like it before) or i might just make a custom cut and put them in my door.. and then also add some 6x9's in the back where my old ones were and then get an amp for those four...

do you have any suggestions on what kind of speakers i should get.. i wanna keep around 5-600 (might go up if i get a job real quick) .. i was gonna get all jl but evan ebay it wouldnt work since a 4 channel amp is gonna be over half my budget....

but thanks for the help.. its definately helping...

sorry to bring back such an old thread but i was hoping to get a little more feedback.. im gonna need to buy everything by the end of next month....

thanks to anyone offering some feedback.....

I got some CDT CL-62's which you can pick up for around $200,

and an USAmp IS 4085.

I have the amp running the CDT's and a set of Pioneer 6x9's(probably the same type as yours) and it sounds great.

That amp ROCKS!!!!

You can pick one up at a great price (give forum member flakko a shout), and he might even be able do help you out with the CDT's.

I'll be honest, I now know that rear fill isn't necessary so I might just run the 6x9s off of the HU and bridge the rear channels on the amp to run my sub.

That way I will be able to run the whole system with just the IS-4085 and it will sound just right.
