yeah im a newb i must agree... but anyway maybe someday ill shed that title.

Im here today to ask you all for some suggestions. a friend of mine bought 2 12" kicker comps 2005 models in a ported box powered by a 600 max wattage crunch amp. it sounds decent and hits deep. im looking for something in the price range of 300-400 dollars that hits harder then the system i mentioned. we have the same head unit... not sure if that matters but anyway im going to need and amp the subs and the box... well this may be impossible but thanks for the suggestions.

No, it is far from impossible. You could probably get a Tempest for $150 brand new from Adire Audio, build yourself a 4.5^3ft box tuned to ~30Hz depending on your music and tastes, and then somethign like a Viper d1200.1 for $199 from ikesound. That puts you right under $400 and you have a great sounding, loud system. I know because I had almost the exact same set-up, only difference was box size. And if it is not louder, then it will be right at as loud.

i am not having any luck finding a tempest for sale on the website. any one now a link to another dealer one that offers a warranty of some sort. i think that one tempest should do the job im not looking for overpowering bass just enough to outdo him... lol... well thanks everyone it is greatly appreciated.

my jls will over power his with a nice amp like a 500/1 or even kicker 500.2! right now me and my buddy had a compatition he has type r's with 300/1's to each and my kicker 500.2 and jl w0's were louder and i konw the type r's are better than the kicker comps!so if u want any of this stuff let me know?

I don't know what you're doing to navigate the site, but the Tempest can be found under the "Mobile" or "DIY" headers on Adire's website. http://www.diycable.com is also a distributor for Adire products.
