OK...im wanting to keep my total RMS around 1k so i have ~800 for a substage.....i need suggestions as wat would be best....i like LOUD but also like SQ too. It will be in a 93 Ranger extended cab...i listen to mostly rap in my truck. budget of ~$200 for just subs.

For SQ and loud, I love my RE SEs. 12 or 15 would do great. Also a nice sub perfect for 800 would be an MB quart PWE-352. Again, depending on your box, 12 or 15. If you port, do 32 or 33 hz. Thats gonna still give you volume, but also sound good.

like 10 mins from Gastonia...I have a L5 15" that i picked up locally in a trade but ive heard they dont have that good of SQ and i really dont want to ahve that big of box but will if i need to.....how would 4 JL W0 8s sound?

an Re is gonna sound night and day better than an L5 bro, not even a comparison to be made really, oh this L5 sounds like ***, and the RE is accurately reproducing bass frequencies - hmm

JL w0 are crap for the amount of $$ JL wants.

for under 200 you could do a pair of PG RSD -C10 they sound good and would love to split 1k.

ok guys thanks for the advice....guess imma sale the L5 locally and buy a pair of 10" RE SE or 12s....gonna look up box specs....I do kno they are like 600 rms each so wouuld they do fine splittin 1k?

i herd a l5 12 on 1 voicel coil that sounded nice

its all on the settings and filters on the amp and deck throwing too much volume and or gain will not do any good

i have a sub volume control now and i dont like to turn it up past a nice clear level dosent get any louder any way

geat a remote bass knob and youll know what i mean....unless you amp is set/utting out the right amount of power

you best bet is to do 1-12 off of 1000watts.

the RE-Se peaks @ 1200, so make sure you built the right box for them, sealed that sub go low & have good cone control,in ported boxed box that sub will go low & still have good cone control & plus be much louder, the bass should feel like it ripping your back out from you.

just dont clip that sub, & you should be a happy camper
