Suggestions for 2000+W w/ stock alternator

Well, I have narrowed the search down and added a couple more types of interest. Since I've decided that I want this amp to fit inside my amp rack, with limited space, I eliminated almost all models I had been previously considering.

This amp needs to fit in a space of 17" long x ~13" wide, including room for any cable protrusion.

Does anyone have anything bad or good to say about MMats class D stuff, AutoTek's brand new MM line, or a company I've never heard of but looks like good stuff: Matrxx Audio's new class D line

Autotek mean machine and mmats amps are excellent, you can't go wrong with them, not sure about the other, but I'd personally go for autotek of the 2 for your application, but all the money your spending on the amps, why can't you upgrade your alt?

That's a very valid question and well taken, man.

I may consider an alternator upgrade, but I plan to sell the truck in the not-so-distant future and don't want to flush $400+ down the tubes.

Spending bux on audio equipment is a different story, though. I can always take it with me to my next vehicle if I want.

Sounds silly, but it's justification to me. If worse comes to worse, I'll drop a HO alternator in this one and try to forget the money, but I'm just trying to make it work without that.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. All of it helps.

Cheers, and happy [almost] 4th!

You can get the HO alt, and keep the stock, when you get a new car take it out of the truck put the stock back in and if the alt doesn't fit your car make brackets for it and make it fit.

I hear ya', and I totally agree.

Chances are, with the power I'll be pushing, I won't have much of a choice without stepping back a couple levels on my subs and sub amp. So, I'm already shopping for alternators, but they are few and far between for my new Montero Sport LTD edition.

im running 3kwrms total on my stock alt, and the voltage stays areound 13.8 at max volume for music. test tones are a different story.......11.4amps on a 35hz test tone...
