I want to add a single 12" to my system. I have an Alpine 9887 and a set of CDT 6.5" components run passive with 2 x 200 watts.

It is going in my 2002 Chevy 2500hd extended cab. My box has is 1.0 ft3 sealed box with a max mounting depth of 6.5".

My amp is 400 watts rms @ 4 ohms.

Max budget of 200$ shipped to my door.

I want clean sound with good output, I have been out of the game too long.

What do you recommend?

Thanks.

Yes I was a member years ago.

I also did some research on the Skar Audio 12vvx subwoofer. My last subwoofer was a 13kv.2 from edesigns. Which I just found some info about they are out of business from a fall out. Wow. I am way out of the game.

New or used? Question too tho. Jr member from 2005?
I missed the first part. I prefer new. I take care of things very well. Up till last week I was running my 13kv.2d4. I had it wired to 8 ohms. It was possibly getting 100-125 watts? I want to get a dual 2 that will allow me to run 4 ohms.

I don't really crank it, but sometimes I get a little froggy and want to rock out.

I was looking up the Skar vvx but im looking into the Sundown sd-2 now.

I listen to all types of music. Classical, country, rap, blues, dubstep, etc.

I would get that sub from mylows10, I had the level four version and loved it's musicality, and its attack on the lows. Plus he is a great guy to deal with, has helped me, ALOT, even on the stupid stuff...lol. Can't go wrong with him, hey Jim.

you'd want a musical sub that can hit the highs and the lows. The skar sub has a heavier low end and lack a bit of high end extension.

What would you recommend? These brands I have never heard of.

The SSA DCON appears to be offered in a single 2 or single 4 ohm. I would like a dual coil. Only because if I fry my amp. I will likely go to a mono amp. I would like the option to run a lower ohm for a more powerful amp if needed.

Maybe the SSA GCON? Its 40$ over budget. But if its what I need, I will save up a little more.
