I'm really trying to get serious finding my first audio system for my own vehicle. I did purchase a new Alpine IVA-D106 in dash flip-out to replace the P.O.S Sony CD player that came with the car.

My goal for this system: What I want out of this setup is to have very loud clean smooth low bass, with the component speakers to match, that can get stupid loud bass wise when I want it to. I'm thinking about doing bass race...

Notes: I also read from someone I would be safer running no more than 2000 watts in my car. But the thing is I just want this setup to be loud enough for me. I don't want to buy all this stuff, install it and be disappointed. I want to be able to enjoy it for a long time, until I get a new car.

I read a lot of reviews on a lot of different subs and I just can't decide, since I've never really heard any audio systems... I'm asking you guys for your suggestions I'd really appreciate it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

and you need to go and listen to some cars to get a reference

1 13w7 might be plenty for you or you might want a trio of them

I heard a W7 before, it sounded good. But the prices are nuts... You know any places that sell them at a decent price? I wouldn't mind trying one...

I'll keep you in mind.

After looking at ID Max since it was recommended to me by an SQ guy, I read this statement that made me change my mind about SQ woofers having the ability to really get loud.

From the Image Dynamics site:

"The result, a truly musical, long excursion, ultra-high SPL subwoofer. Even at the lowest fundamental frequencies the IDMAX effortlessly reproduces the music faithfully with transient detail and tonal accuracy that is the result of very low harmonic distortion. Combine the musical abilities of the IDMAX with its ability to produce truly violent SPL levels and this subwoofers popularity is quickly understood."

Hmm...

1-re mx 12" d2........450.00....1500wrms

1 md-3d us amps.....700.00...2000wrms@1ohm

1 pdx 4.150.............400.00....150wrmsX4

2 pg rsd pro comps 200.00....150wrms

1750.00 so you have 750.00 left for crack and hookers

pretty good set up right there...RE sub is an SQL sub the rsd comps are well regarded on here...the pDX amp is high power/class D and very small will power the comps perfectly
