Suggest me an amplifier

I am looking to possibly get a system for my car. I need an amp that can do 500 watts or so without killing my car's STOCK electrical system, so im trying not to hit 1 ohm, because in my Eclipse I put in a 600 watt amp at 1 ohm and it killed the voltage regulators in my alternator. I can spend up to $250, though I would love to spend less than that. I was checking out the JL 500.1 monoblocks but any other opinions would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I dont know what sub/subs im planning on getting, but possibly a 12w3v2 or... I dont really know yet lol, maybe an infinity kappa perfect or something. Im still looking around.

Well if your electrical system is of concern, the power supply on the / series is tighly regulated. That means it will **** power all the time.

Why run a 1 ohm load if you don't have to? Get a 4 ohm SVC or 2 ohm DVC and then get a nice 2 channel that does 500-600 watts bridged and you are set. Hell if you are that concerned about it, get a 4 ohm DVC and wire it to 8 ohms. But then you'd need a 2 channel that would do 1000 watts or so bridged.

well i could just buy a hifonics amplifier and run 1 ohm @ 600 watts and be set for around $100

but im scared that that would kill this cars electrical system like it did my eclipse.

do u know of any decent 2 channel amps i could get for around that price???

I am probably going to end up running at 4 ohms, i dont think 500-600 watts at 4 ohms will hurt anything

What year and model Eclipse are you talking about?

I have been running 1 ohm in my past three cars without any issues? I think you probably had another issue with that car or you had an amp with a problem.
