I'm going to kill my poor little Saturn.

I'm going to have enough money from my first paycheck to invest about $400-$450 in a new sub or two (or three!), and finally get my Saturn bumping. I've put a lot of thought into this (been holding off for nearly three months now) and I've finally decided that I want either a single 15 or a pair of 12's. This is what I like and can afford in this price range:

1 Adire Brahma 15" - $429 unless mr josh will hook me up cheaper. MMMMMM....XBL2.

3 Elemental K 12's - $330. Would have to go with sealed due to space limitations. Would leave a little over for some decent components.

1 Elemental A 15 - $270. Cheaper than the Brahma.....but not nearly as nice. Would leave some cash for really nice components....

1 RE XXX 15 - ~$429. Longer throw than a Brahma, but needs a bigger box.

Tell me what you guys think. I promise it's the last time I'll ask!

3 ks is wayyyyy too much for a daily driver //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I would go with the one 12a unless u want to be totally deaf //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Daily driver eh... well, provided you have enough money for an amp that will supply it good power, I would recommend the brahma. It seems like it would be the best in terms of sound quality (that's what you want in a daily driver, right?). I guess you could make an XXX sound as good as a brahma, but it would be a bigger box.

I agree that the K's would be a bit much, for someone like me at least. But then again, you have that insane box in your ranger that's 10 ft.^3, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

The insane 10 cubes is in the Talon....the Ranger box was only ~5.5 cubes.

The amp I'm using to drive whatever I go with is a Cadence A7 (about 800-900w real world power on my stock charging system).

noice. So are you gonna port or seal whatever you get? If you seal a brahma 15 with that much wattage, that'd sound great in a box about the size of mine (36x18x12) with a double front baffle. My amps overdrive hardcore though when I turn the gain up to around 75% or above on big bass songs.

I'm going with an RE XXX 15". Yes, Regis, that's my final answer.

The guy at RE said they might have a few 2002 motors laying around the shop they could cut me a deal on (i guess the motor, basket and dust cap are going to look a little different after the next production run), and they would custom build one with the VC's optimized for my amp whether I got a 2002 or a 2003.
