Of course you can play them. Just let everything warm up (amps and subs) before cranking it in the winter, so 1/4 - 1/2 your normal volume for about 5 minutes. The only time I dont play mine is when the temp is well under 0. For one, my amp doesnt like to turn on when its that cold and also the last thing I'm thinking about is music when I'm sitting in a freezing car waiting for the engine to warm up to get some heater going. Minnesota sucks...

reason being;

the cold will shrink the voice coil, and if you crank it right off, then the VC will feal a shot of heat, and might crack due to the expansion of the heat.

its like putting a plate with some forzen food on it that has been in the freezer for a while, then trying to microwave it. the plate usually breaks due to the expansion =P

so just keep em low, then when youve been running the amp for a little turn her up.

we dont want any broken VC's or MOSFETS =P because it was too **** cold out =)

rofl. i hope his shit breaks because of it =)

all the rattling because of his un-deadened car and the brittleness of the cold shatters all his windows and the frame of the car (after he replaces the first set of windwos and dosnt learn)

This subject was touched a very long time ago, and someone said something along the lines of "turning your sub up too much before it's warmed up is like getting tackled while standing ***** in the snow...not very fun for you or the sub."
