I am getting ready to upgrade my subs and need some good ideas.

I listen to hip-hop, and I like my bass to be real solid so it thumbs not just rattles. I want something people will hear from far away. Currently I just have 2 Kenwood 12's. They are actually pretty decent everyone says they can hear me from a block away but it mostly my trunk rattling not actual bass.

I was looking at Kicker 15in L7s but heard they rip easily or something after a short amount of time? Also I was looking at Eclipse subs. I have around 700 - 800 to spend on subs, and amp. The box is going to be custom made at a local Autographics and Sound shop. If you could give me model numbers on the woofers and amps to look at that would be great. Looking for two 15s, but also heard for this that 12's produce better sound? Anything you can provide would be helpful.

assuming that the box is designed and built correctly, any dual 15 inch setup will get loud. your budget and vehicle dictates the rest. a 15 inch L7 is best in 5-6 cubes ported. they'll get loud as piss, but the boxes are large. a 15 inch eclipse titanium can do it's thing in 3.5 cubes ported. maybe not as loud, but the box is obviously much smaller, and i think sound far better.

if two 15" l7s aren't loud enough for you then youll need to up your budget

i wouldnt worry about them ripping. ive never heard of that problem before

Those are others I saw for around my price range, and they seemed good. Also for the AudioQ are their amps as good as their subs?

2 olm subs on 2500-4000 watts can be very loud and still clean in around 6-8 cf.

Would you recommend Diamond Audio I can get 2 15's for 200 bucks. Ive heard good things about Diamond Audio, but it's hard to tell when I'm not familiar with their different lines of subs. They don't seem to require a lot of power 500 watts RMS each. D315D4.2

Only problem with DC Audio is there isn't a dealer even within 200 miles of my location and I can't find none of their stuff on car audio retail sites. There's not gonna be a way for me to afford the s15L7s amp wise. I want power out of them and an amp (or two) that would do the job would put me way over the limit. Still looking, thanks.

I dont see what the impendance of a speaker has to do with the sound...
