Hi, just found these forums while trying to google an answer to my question, and I decided to stop by and ask you guys. I apologize if this is in the wrong section, but it is related to wiring and installation.
I'll be honest and admit that I know very little about car audio, but I am trying to learn as much as I can. I just recently went out and purchased an amp for my car. I had new speakers put in about 9 months ago, but now I wanted to add some subs to my trunk. After I purchased my subs and my amp, I installed it and it works great. My cousin stopped by, who has wired between 10 and 15 system for his buddies, and asked to see what I got. He takes a look at my trunk, and he says here, lets do this. He unplugs the two back speakers from my stock amp, and he runs new speaker wire from those speakers to my new amp. My new amp is two channels, so for each channel he put 1 sub and 1 speaker connected to it. I originally had just the subs connected to the amp, 1 sub per channel. It works really good, but just something about this doesn't seem right.
Is it okay to double up on the wires per channel like this? Or can something blow out? I asked my cousin about this, but he insists that it's all fine and he's done it countless times.
