Subwoofers last

Hey how long if put in the proper enclosure, fed unclipped power would a good subwoofer last? When I mean good like JL Audio, RF T line subwoofers, Sundown SSA,RE Audio, etc.

i had my 12w6v2 for about 5 years now. i bought it used on ebay at the time. i didn't even know how to set the gain properly first couple years so i know i was damaging them hahaha. but ya. 5yrs later. its still thumpin. i love it. but imma try something else soon. im thinking dc lv4 xl.

i think over time the suspension wears out and gets loose, but i have seen subs last 15+ years

I've seen 50 year old Altec drivers with accordion surrounds that played fine.

i have a 20-30 year old cerwin vega 15, with the old accordian surround that still works. I have some kenwood 16" subs that are from the early 80s and they still work fine too.

I've still got 30+ year old pioneer drivers in my home theatre setup. Had to put new surrounds on em, but that's all.
