AMP: Audiopipe APSM-1500

I got a new amp, after a week they burned out my JVC Subwoofers

I got a couple of new subs last week. Audioplanet Rated at 1000Rms 2000Peak and also went out on the 6th day.

Am I doing something wrong here? I broke them in for a few days slowly going up a little day at a time. They burned out at 60 percent volume. I was sure to change fuse, tightened properly even had the wiring changed out. The guy at the shop tried to get me in some kickers with 300rms and said it would handle them but that doesn't sound right to me.

Does anyone care to educate me on how and why this keep happening? Any suggestions on subs that will last with this amp? ($150-200 range for the pair)

I'm stumped, I had my old amp a NTPower 1200w POS amp and it lasted 7 years without issue.

I seriously need some advice, thanks everyone here on caraudio.com you guys are awesome. Helped me pick out an amp that I believe is a bit too good :p Thanks

PS I've had the amp exchanged already as well.

What's you gain and bass boost set at ? Gain should be set with a DMM or better yet a oscilloscope and your bass boost should be set at 0.
Gain and Bassboost were set around 5%-10% for the first 2-3 days then upped to around 10%-15% towards the end. Give or take of course but I didn't go crazy with those settings I was on a one month plan to break them in slowly.

No bass boost. Sounds like you are clipping the chit out of that amp. Those amps are ok for what they are, sounds like you are trying to get more than it can produce. What are the other amp options you mentioned and your budget? You can check the classies and get a decent more efficient amp depending, of course on your budget.

to me it sounds like the subs and clipping. But i just checked out the subs via link and they do not look like they are going to hold 1000rms. to me they look about 250 each not bashing but just my thoughts.

I'm kind of stuck with the amp for now, honestly I just wanted to get them to where my old subs were with the old amp. I didn't want to push them too far because I didn't want to burn out another pair, I was very careful not to stress them out. My budget for subs is around 150-200 for the pair, any suggestions? or perhaps wait until I save up more?

Yeah the blue subs ? Is that what you bought. They don't look like they could take much power. Sorry if I missed but what are they Ohm wise. You are not running that amp lower than it can handle are you ? Does the system cut off for a few secs at all when you play it ?

Bash away, they felt lite and weak out of the box. I didn't think they were 1000rws either, so I treated them like they were less so I didn't push them too hard. My old subs help up better.

I second guess myself I was going to get some alpine Type-S instead but my friend convinced me to go with the latter to save one money and "haz more watts" -.- I feel like a dope.

No it didn't cut off, on either pair of subs really. Not that I noticed anyway. I didn't feel any clipping. My old subs sounded awesome and I did push those pretty hard at the end though. These new ones I treated them like inferiors since regardless of the watts I knew they were cheap. I just didn't know they'd give out so easily

Check on here. I'm sure people with stuff for sale will chime in. eBay much as I do not agree with their fees and all can be a good place to fine stuff at. And I'm sure vendors on here could hook you up with something.
