Subwoofer wiring

Top image is what my installer recommends.

Bottom omage is what i have been doing all along and thats what i see on internet....

Can someone confirm that the top image is a better way to connect my sub to my amp???

if it's a true monoblock with 4 outputs but internally bridged (likely the case), keep doing what you're doing in the bottom drawing.
He says his way will supply the sub with more power. Makes sense but i have never seen people wire their subs like that. Does the top pic have a advantage over the bottom? Is it more dangerous? Want to learn as much as i can from all this. Thanks so far.
