Subwoofer wiring

Can someone guide me in wiring my two Alpine Type R 12s to a Kicker ZX1500.1 monoblock? I initially had these DVC speakers hooked up parallel but the amp is not 1 ohm stable, so after Kicker repaired it I hooked them up in series but it didn't hit hard enough at 4 ohms so for right now I'm just running one sub, 2 ohms and it sounds decent, but I know this amp can run both because it was originally hooked to a pair of CVXs. I appreciate the help...

If they are dvc 4, you can't get a 2 ohm load with 2 speakers. Your options are one four eight or sixteen. You really needed two dvc 2 subs with coils in parallel and speakers in series or two svc 4 speakers.

They are 2 ohm when both voice coils are wired up; do you think it would be better if I just got one 15 instead of trying to run 2 12s? And are the square subs like the

Solobarics better?

One dvc 4 can be wired to 2 ohms. If you're unsure about the impedance calculations, there's a calculator on 12volt.com. On brands you'll have to wait for someone else to chime in there. I'm not familiar enough to recommend anything there. But I've read bad things about the square subs but have no personal experience there.
