subwoofer waveguide?

Has anyone ever tried building something like this into their trunk? Small sealed box for the sub and then a huge waveguide from face of the subwoofer to the trunk opening.

horn, which as stated is a acoustic impedance transformer.

typically in car audio we use what has been dubbed folded horn.
