subwoofer volume

i have a clarion eqs746 and was wonder if the sub volume on it is anything like boost or anything cause i no bass boosts are bad,

and i have a ap3000 so would it be better to use there volume knob they have for it or the sub volume on the eq to turn the bass up and down

no it's not a boost it's an independent volume adjustment to match it to the rest of the speakers.

should i turn it all the way up when i set the gain on my amp so i wont be able to turn it to high

Boosts aren't always bad you just have to know how to use them
