Subwoofer speaker wires

Does it make that big of a difference in sound? Worth the money? Right now the wires a re VERY thin. Actually my friend constantly teases me about it. Should I upgrade?

You should add thick copper wires mannnnnn!!!

Or else you will lose power.

Makes a large difference. I diagnosied one system someone brought to me, he had 2 audiobahn aw-1000 with a RF 500.2 amp. IT SHOULD have kicked his little toyota tercel's ass. Except he was using 16 gauge power and groud, I shook my head in disgust, quickly replaced with 8 gauge, then I wired the subs in with 12 gauge. Bam problem solved.
