Subwoofer selection

I have 2 Arc KAR Series 12S4 subs powered by a JL Audio 500/1, I like these subs better than the 2 JL W3's that they replaced, the JL's were louder but that is not what I was going for.

the w3's sound good, the w3v2's do not. the w3 as a good woofer.

i thought i was being clear enough when i specified W3 and W3v2, if i meant w3v3 i would have specified it as the w3v3 as i did the w3v2.

I had the 12W3V2's, dont get me wrong, they were nice but the Arc KAR 12S4 sounds better IMHO and only cost me half of what I paid for the JL subs.

Sounds like Bri has a case of the @ss today. As another recommendation, I suggest you try out the Digital Designs 500 series 12's or a pair of Audio Que SD2-12's.

500's??? my 2510s are getting about 500-650 a piece ported and are loving it. i dont think they will like the low amount of power, so those are out. i dont even think he would be in the 1000 series range with only 525 watts.

we are giving box ideas per woofer as he did not indicated any enclosure specs, he said how much power he has, and woofers arent really car specific (it is more box design)
