Looking to rebuild a bravox subwoofer with the nicest parts i can find, hopefully will learn quickly. Pictures enclosed, already been searching for past rebuilds to look for problems to avoid.

3 inch coil.. Looked deformed when i first opened it. I'm editing a second with better sized pictures

call scott at fi audio. he can probably build you a drop in rebuild kit. where all you have to do is clean up the spider landing & surround landing. then shim the coil, glue the spider, glue the surround, pull the shims, glue the dust cap, & soulder the leads to the terminals. very simple.

great idea if you want to wait 3-4 months, also you need to ship it in to him for him to make the coil. Dudes just to busy with his own products to be making custom coils now adays.

Worst case, if i have to order something custom, i can have patience. I'm mainly interested in learning, plus in the end having a unique subwoofer will be very nice too.

If you wanted to send me the old soft parts, or make some detailed measurments I could put a kit together for you...

The first thing I'd need to know is the resistance of the coils windings, the former height, the wind height, and the exact inner diameter of the coil...

Would i need a digital measurement device for that as well? I still have to measure the gap.. I took apart the basket now and i'm interested in rebuilding it into a 15 or 18 if possible

That gap looks TIGHT.

It looks VERY tight, lol.

How off center? Speaker has been sitting garaged for nearly a year now, shouldnt have any abuse other than the obvious

look at the gap between the top half vs the lower half. it looks to me that the top is much tighter than the bottom.
