So I have had 2 s12l7s connected to a zx1500.1 amp for a couple months now. This past friday it was quite hot in Chicago and my amp went into protection mode for about 30 - 45 minutes until it cooled enough to turn on. everything sounded fine up until yesterday when it seems like they might have blown. I swore to myself i wouldnt buy subwoofers again if I blew the most recent pair I bought so I really hope its just a technical error and not blown out. I can hear music through them but it is barely hitting and sounds awful. Is it possible that wires might have come loose etc. and caused them to distort and not run on full power or is it more likely that the heat caused the voice coil/s to melt? Any bright suggestions are appreciated.
