Subwoofer not producing any sound

I have hooked up systems in my jeep and had no issues but my old amp blew awhile back and just recently got a newer set up to put in.

I just recently purchased a Kenwood XR600 refurbished amplifier from crutchfield to power two 10 in punch subs. This is the amplifier the sales guy recommend best for my subs. To my knowledge I think I properly installed the amplifier. The amp turns on but the subs are not producing any sound. I checked the ground wire with a multi meter and read the correct voltage. When I tried to read the speaker wires from the amp I got no reading. It seems the only sound I do get is when I was re hooking the RCA cables there was a small knock from the subs when plugging them in. I tried two different RCA cables. Is there something wrong with my wiring or is it the amp?

Sounds like it's an input signal issue. Get a 3.5 mm to rca cable and plug your phone/I pod directly into the amp and see if that produces any sound.

where is the signal coming from? aftermarket head unit with sub out RCA? if so, turn sub output on. factory radio with line output converter if so, make sure you didn't reverse polarity on speaker wire taps and/or the LOC has power (if needed).
