subwoofer noise

I'm getting a weird noise coming from one of my RL-p's and was wondering if anyone knew what it could be. When it's playing, it sounds a bit like breathing and very slight rattling combined. When the subs aren't playing, the one with the noise is a bit easier to push in than the one without noise (the no-noise sub cone seems stiffer when I push it in), and it also makes a noise like air is coming out (just a little) when I press the cone in. Both subs play fine, just one makes that slight noise and it's sorta audible in the car.

I had a problem very similar to this. The hole I cut out to mount the sub was just a little small. If you shave some more off completely around and put it back in it should fix it. At least it did for me.

My friends sub did that or simmialar to what you are saying like the person above make sure nothing is loose in the box and check to make sure the sub is fitted perfectly in the box no lil holes or stuff like that just double check everything me and my friend found out his was a loose screw that was making the rattle sound so who knows......good luck to ya though:)

I just went through the same thing, the surrounds on the very outside of the basket ring was lifting up in areas allowing air to escape. It gradually got worse. I just got done glueing it all back together.
