subwoofer mounting suspended or against frame

I have a quick question about mounting a shallow boxed subwoofer behind the bench in my truck. The plan is to attach the box behind the seat by first epoxying four angle brackets to the frame then screwing those into the box. Seems pretty fail safe and I might not even have to sand the paint if the quick-setting epoxy etches its way on while drying. But since I have the option, would it be best to mount the box so that it is snug against the rear frame of the cab or rather suspended a quarter inch away so there is no vibration possible there. The subwoofer is carpeted all the way around, will be mounted so the driver faces the rear frame and is a 10" Pioneer model TSSWX2502.
