subwoofer maintenence?

may sound stupid but is there maintenence you can perform on your sub to keep it running @ optimum performance? like maby apply somethign to the surround to keep it nice + tight or anything in general?

Grease the spider, re glue the dust cap, and armorall the surround. Don't forget to re-magnify the motor if it isn't as loud as it used to be and you should be fine.

you mean the yellow circular coils underneat the cone but above the magnet correct, inside a woven cloth it looks like....

oil them with what ? the kind of oil u use on baseball gloves

yes that is the spider, but the guy is just messing with you. Really, one of the main things to do, IMO is keep your subwoofer out of the weather. I.E. if your subs are facing toward a hatchback, make sure your windows are tinted, or if your subs are in the trunk, make sure there is no leakage or anything of that sort going on in there. Also, never play your subs loud enough to the point of distortion. This causes heat, and will eventually fry your voice coil.

no there is not much you can do. that i know of. and armorall is probably ok for Some surrounds
