would it be too much to cut a 10inch hole in the parcel shelf?

the shelf has already had two 6X9 holes cut in it...

modeled in a 1000litre sealed enclosure, the woofer has a predicted -3dB point of 35Hz... the woofer really doesn't suit enclosures //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

edit: when I ask if its too much, I mean, would it be too much metal work removed from the structure of the shelf? I know its illegal to cut it, but its already been done anyway, so if it gets defected, it'll be going to the scrap heap anyway.

he's talking about the rear deck, he wants to know of cutting a 10inch hole in the rear deck will compromise the cars structural integrity. Which is a pretty common rumor.

I guess it might be a problem if you were in a kia rio though. What kinda car is this going in.

i cut my whole rear deck out of the neon.

I would bolt a length of angle-iron down in front and behind the 10" hole you cut to reinforce.
