I posted this post yesterday but this one has more detail.
I have an Alpine 9884 head unit, a Quantum Audio 1000 watt mono-block class D amplifier, and a Kicker 12 inch CVR subwoofer. I’m using the stock speakers in my car. At first I had the sub and the amp running with the stock deck. The sub seemed to hit harder with the stock deck. After installing the Alpine deck, the sub doesn't seem to hit as hard. The sub doesn't hit the high bass notes very hard but it hits the lower notes hard. I adjusted the EQ on the deck and on the amp. How should I tune the bass frequency, bass range, and the treble frequency? Is the reason why my subs aren’t hitting that hard because of the wires I have? Do I need thicker wires? The sub hit hard with the stock deck. Probably need to check the connection or wiring? Thanks.
I looked at the wiring and the wire that is connected to the positive on the sub is connected to the negative on the amp. Also, the wire that is connected to the negative on the sub is connected to the positive on the amp. Is that a right connection?
