Subwoofer Help Please (2000 BMW 330i)

Hey guys,

I am finally passing on my old car (and therefore my soundsystem) to my sister and taking over a 2000 BMW 330i and I am looking to upgrade the soundsystem. I am mainly looking at 12 inch subs (I am a bass fiend who usually listens to rap music but also classic rock) and an amp to power them. However, I have been out of the audio game for a while and have no idea what route to go in terms of subs. I heard that the Polk Audio db1222 (12"x2) enclosed system is a nice system that hits pretty hard without sacrificing quality sound for the price. I am looking for a somewhat cheap route (max $400 for subs and $400 for an amp). Can anyone help me out with some suggestions? The speakers have already been upgraded and I am looking at a decent Kenwood receiver just to add a little more power to the rest of the system.

As for enclosures have someone here design you a nice ported one and build it yourself, RAM_designs does a great job
