ok, I found some specs on a 2 piece speaker grill which looks identical to the one I ordered from parts express

it says it extends out 3/4th of an inch

3/4 of an inch equates to 19.0500 mm's

well if the excursion of the re8 is 12mm, that should be enough room for it to operate with the grill on right?

I was just saying that grill doesn't look like it goes far out at all. Not that your sub might hit it. Just that it doesn't go out that far. But indeed 19 > 12.

Thing is, I dont know for sure if the specs of that other grill is the same as the one I BOUGHT. For some odd reason parts express doesnt list the demensions of it, even though it appears that the grill is exclusively/primarily sold on their site.

well I got the girlls, turns out they extend half an inch which is bout 12.7 mm

you can try putting some spacers on there. if you only need a little more room it might not look that bad.

adhesive foam padding strip stuff under there grill should give you 1mm or so.
