Subwoofer Brand Question

ok so I recently purchased an Alpine Type S DVC 4 Ohm sub (500w RMS). The seller on eBay said he's having problems right now and I could either get a refund or wait for him to get another.

I started thinking, and came across the question. Do I really want the Alpine?

I also have been looking at these other 12" subs aswell

Ok i'm really enjoying answering this! 1st while Alpine is a great product you must remember that it is Japanese... Their sub-woofers are made for acoustics's and not SPL. If your looking for massive reliable bass, then you need to buy American subs. My recommendation is (Soundstream) I love them and use a complete system from them! If not soundstream then try Rockford Fosgate but as good as FR is i always come back to the f uck ing unbelievable Soundstream! each and every time...

(PS) Your Alpine s hit wouldn't hold up to either of the brands i just mentioned in a heart beat, iv'e had all the brands you've listed and i'll never go back to them.

Sundown, of those you mentioned. Not familiar with the new re subs. What type of budget? Maybe ssa gcon or american bass. Some rf stuff is still decent, if you don't have to pay too much. What amp/power for sub?
