my box is tuned to 35 htz, my setting is a round knob, but not exactly sure where to set it... the lowest it goes is 15 the highest is 40.... should i set it about half?

for a 35hz tuning i would turn it to about 28 or where 28 should be on

the knob...

im conservative though so you might be able to be more liberal with it...

my box is 30hz and i have my SSF on about 27... or where i believe that

27 should be...

amps should have more accurate knobs...

i agree.. i want to set mine around 30 but i don't know where 30 is lol

15-40 so you have 25 hz worth of valu...

half of 25 is 12.5 so if you have your knob

turned exactly half way up thats 27.5...

if 15 is at like 7 on a clock face

and 40 is like at 5 on a clock face

27.5 will be at 12 on a clock face

now you can take the 40hz at 5 and 27.5hz at 12

you can figure that around 2.30 on the clock face is

around the mid point between your values... which

should be 33.75... which is pretty close... just turn it

a little bit more toward where 1:30 should be on

a clock face and youll be ok...

if that made any sense at all...

Draw up a graph of the knob. Slice it in half that is 27.5hz right in half. You want to get more accurate slice those two in half now you know where 21.25hz and 33.75hz is...

It's not really rocket sience. Of course you will not be 100% accurate, but at least within 1 frequency.

How do you know where to set it?

Like my new box is going to be tuned to 34 hz, and my bx1000d has 15 on one side and 35 on the other...

What is a safe ssf setting for a 34 hz box?

I was being genuine, no sarcasm. 5-10hz below tuning is an ideal setting.

ok, cuz my sx hits a lot harder with my filter set low around 27-30, just didn't wanna hurt my sub

the thing with the ported box is if the sub plays below

the tuning frequency it can become out of control and

you can potentially have problems...

not a lot of regular music has enough of those super

low frequencies where it will necessarily become a

problem even without an SSF...

the SSF is an extra measure of safety for your sub...

like trigger said... its not rocket science... but it is rocket science...
