cerwin vega strokers the D2's or power acoustic mofo series 12's??? would 8 gauge wire work or would i have 2 get 0 gauge with a 4000watt amp?

Wrong section, have you picked the amp? Those subs dont compare to one another in any means and the PA mofo will not handle 2000rms each, 8 guage would BURN up, and yes you would need 0/1 guage, wire inline fuse, distro block fused preferably. Not many amps out there that will do 4000rms.
