I meant with the budget I'm in I'm not going to get anything louder then the L7s. I know there is louder subs.

You are going about this ALL wrong in every way possible.

Subs arent what gets you loud. The enclosure design is. Your L7 12s can get loud because they are basically 15s in terms of cone area, however you need a 5-6 cubic feet NET airspace box for them to even remotely perform right. If you buy a random pre-made box or a so called labeled "custom" premade box online, you wont get loud no matter what. You need a box built by someone who knows how to get loud.

Dont be concerned about brands of subs because only noobs that never get loud do that. The magic happens in the install not by switching subs like underwear.

then swapping subs is the least of your worries.

get a good true 2000-2500 rms amp + electrical upgrades with an enclosure for those L7 12s first before blowing money down the toilet getting different subs and not having enough money left for a real amp. If you buy a junk amp then you wont get anywhere. If you skimp out on the enclosure then you'll NEVER ever get loud. If you skimp out on electrical upgrades then its bye bye amp and subs because sh*t will blow.

You'll need to disable the sub if you want to run another sub or else the bass will cancel eachother out with the factory sub and new sub running.

I have 2 12s L7s but there in my car and I need some for my truck. The box that the L7s are in is the stock box kicker made. Would there be another box to make them louder without taking more space

hds 3 are good subs the 2's not as good but none of them are sq subs.. if that hds3 with box for $100 and it plays u can hear before u buy i'd get that just saying.. skar evls in right box be loud and should at least sound better than l7 but what amp do u have so we can really recommend by what u have..

Hds Sounds qubed and skar are off the shelf garbage... he said hdc3 which is ok for $100 but still off the shelf crap pretty much same as massive audio woofers with a different dust cap.

Honestly L7's are decent cheap woofers if u can get them cheap, but since u already own them a nice box will do wonders. Got any pics of your set up now? I'm willing to bet $70 in wood for a new box and you can get some nice sound

stock kicker box is garbage you need a ported box triple that size to get any kind of results. Space makes bass, thats the universal rule of getting loud. an 8 inch sub in a properly designed box will flat out annihilate two 15s in a small premade box.

You could get a properly designed box for one of the 12s and put the other 12 in your truck.

The kicker rep in this video says some "interesting" things... Those L7's should be modeled and have a box built accordingly... I drank the "Koolaid" Kicker was serving for years... "Kicker Bass"!... LOL!
