Subs stopped making bass

During a ride today, i noticed all of a sudden the subs stopped. Seeing as my amp does this quite often, i just reset it. No bass still. Okay, i thought, it overheated. Once i get home, i open the trunk, and notice the green light on the amp is still lit. At this point i am afraid i blew the subs. I notice really faint noises coming from the subs (they are wired in parrallel off of each other). I thought i blew it for sure. I took the subs out of the box, connected them to my home receiver, and played a 10-100hz sweep. They worked fine. The subs played each frequency like usual. I am thinking the problem is the amp, but it didnt go into protect.

Whats the cause of this/solutions to try?

double check all of your connection's and test your RCA's for a start. If that doesn't fix it it's an amp problem. You say it goes into protect often, what's your voltage drop like?

Voltage never hits below 13.5. The amp is a POS to be honest; surprised it works as of yet. Its trigger happy with going into protect mode, that is the only real problem with it.

sounds like it's time for a new amp anyway, but would still check all those connections, don't want to put in a new amp and have problems with it.

One of the channels died. I switched the sub to the R channel and they worked. Wonder what did that? I noticed no signs of clipping/strange noises, just all of a sudden all the bass stopped and dimmed to that very low noise.

I hope this can last 2 weeks until my sub/amp upgrade. Soundstream rubicon1.1600d so i can torch this POS. im afraid this last channel will die out x.x

Is the amp mounted to the box? Just a question, being you possibly blew the output side of the amp, where was you gain set at?
Amp was mounted to the box, and elevated with a piece of wood to allow airflow to the vents. Only 2 of the 4 mounts were still there and used.

This amp was replaced with an audiopipe APSM-1500
