Subs stop playing

They have started doing this pretty freqently. It never did this before I got my new box so could it just be that the wiring is loose or something?

Anyways it seems like it only does it when it's kind of loud (but not too loud, I played it louder before this new box) The subs just stop playing for a good 2-3 seconds and then start playing again.

No, just a small ported box, to a bigger one. Also I just checked the wiring and it all looks fine.

The subs are 2 old 12" Kicker CVRs on a directed 1500D amp. Could the subs just be getting old and giving out? They are about 2 years old.
