Subs sq is better and hits harder with the trunk lid open.

I am sure it is an air flow issue but I am not sure why. I have a cookie cutter ported box 1.5 cubic frrt for a 12" it is pretty close to the back seat. Should it face the back of the car or should I just get a bigger box?

Sub is a Pioneer TS-W309D2. I was not sure what to search for, nothing came up for "air flow issues"

The box is too small and I'm sure it's tuned way too high if it's a typical prefab. No matter what you do you're not going to get good SQ out of that box. You could probably make it a littler louder by facing it as close to possible at the trunk lid.

Thank you for the response. I was trying to save the wife some trunck space. Which kind of box would be better for the kind of sub? Ported or sealed?

Did I read somewhere its in a Altima or am I making it up? If not, what kind of car?
It is in a 2006 Honda Accord.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I am new to car audio and haven't read enough to learn that much yet.
